Passengers with Disabilities

Some passengers need extra assistance on their journey, and the staff of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport and our airline partners can help in a variety of ways.
 

From curbside assistance upon arrival at the airport to help boarding your departing flight and all points in between, passengers with visible and hidden disabilities can engage staff to make traveling easier. Among the helpful options:

 

• For curbside or wheelchair assistance, please call (501) 213-6243 in advance of your flight, and a member of our team will be available to assist you when you arrive. Persons with disabilities should contact their airline in advance to arrange special services such as boarding assistance and wheelchair needs.
• Passengers with hidden disabilities can ask about a sunflower lanyard that will alert staff that additional help is needed. Available for pickup at customer care near the TSAP checkpoint, the lanyard is a self-identification option for passengers who experience physical, auditory, visual, cognitive or possibly even temporary challenges. Examples of hidden disabilities include but are not limited to, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disorders, sleep disorders, autism spectrum disorder and ADHD.
• In addition to local help from Clinton National Airport staff, TSA Cares is a helpline that provides travelers with “disabilities, medical conditions and other special circumstances additional assistance during the security screening process.” Please call (855) 787-2227 up to 72 hours before traveling with questions about screening policies, procedures and what to expect at security. Hearing-impaired customers can use the Federal Relay number 711 for assistance with their phone calls.

 

Additionally, airlines can assist passengers with needs such as seat assignments, medication storage and food requirements. Alert the airlines in advance of any additional considerations.
